Painting on the wall

The painting or calligraphy scroll is called kakejiku, is one of the element of the tokonoma, the most precious corner of the main room. The most important guest sit close to it. During tea ceremony there will be displayed a flower arrengement called chabana and a box with incense. This painting represent a beautiful water lily.
