Roll cake

Today is hliday Monday and I've been served a great roll cake with whiped cream and compost of apricots, Japanese style, with nice cup of cofee (Italian style).

Wagashi, little sweets

The Wagashi are the little sweets offered with the green tea during chanoyu, they are in perfect harmony, as everything in the chanoyu, with the season, with the weather, with clothes of the master performing the tea ceremony, the simple decoration on the wall and the flower composition. Tea  ceremony is the art of harmony with the universe. The universe in a cup of tea.

Chanoyu, the Tea Ceremony

This are chawan, tea cups for the Japanese Tea Ceremony, chanoyou or sado. The powder green tea is called matcha, is whisked with a bamboo whisk to make a nice froth, is very bitter in taste and for this reason is always accompained by a little sweet.

Chabana, flower arranmgement

Chabana is the Japanese art of flower arrangement, like Ikebana, but is specific for the Tea Ceremony, the composition is simpler, essential, minimalistic. The chabana is positioned in the Tokonoma, the small part of the room  where is hang a single calligraphy or painting, is the most precious corner of the house and the guest will seat closer to it in sign of respect.
